Dogs bark Darth Vader?s theme in Volkswagen Super Bowl teaser (video)

In the annals of Super Bowl commercials past, one genre stands paws and shoulders above the rest: dogs acting like humans. It's with an eye toward history, and one toward last year's popular "kid dressed as Darth Vader" commercial, that Volkswagen released the following trailer for their upcoming Super Bowl advertisement.

USA Today's Drive On has the clip of a collection of dogs barking Darth Vader's "Imperial March."How good is it? I don't get the whole "Star Wars" thing and only like dogs because they're not cats, and even I loved this.

The Chewbacca dog steals the show. He reminds me a little of Rory Calhoun, what with all that standing up and walking.

Volkswagen named the commercial "The Bark Side." Apparently none of this teaser will appear in the actual Super Bowl advertisement. Judging by early, positive reaction, that could be a mistake unless the ad agency has something even more special planned. In terms of Super Bowl commercials, what possibly beats dogs barking the theme to a beloved film? I guess dogs barking the theme to a beloved film while women in bikinis watch.
