Having not made the playoffs in three years, the New York Giants were feeling pretty good about themselves when they traveled to Seattle with a 7-3 record for a Thanksgiving weekend game in 2005. Their mood on the long plane road home was just the opposite after a 24-21 loss to the Seahawks during which they committed an embarrassing 11 false start penalties, five on one possession alone, because of the deafening crowd noise at the bowl that is Qwest Field.

"I just remember a lot of mistakes," guard Chris Snee said. "And a lot of noise."

Added offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride, "The volume seems to be so overwhelming at times," forcing the tackles, tight end and receivers to watch the interior linemen's movement instead of listening to quarterback Eli Manning call the signals.
