Shaun O'Hara's Injury Might Force Giants to Plug Hole at Center

The New York Giants are riding high. A perfect October has rolled them into November atop the NFC East and tied for the conference's top record at 5-2. But something, well, someone is missing.

Center Shaun O'Hara, the vocal leader of the offensive line, is hurt again. O'Hara, who has been a Giants starter longer than anyone except left tackle David Diehl, has a mild sprained Lisfranc ligament in his right foot. This after the 33-year-old O'Hara, whom coach Tom Coughlin brought in from Cleveland and made a starter in 2004, missed Weeks 3-5 with bursitis in his left ankle that had also sidelined him for much of training camp and preseason.

"A lot of people associate the Lisfranc with a fracture of some sort or something that requires surgery,'' O'Hara said on Sirius NFL Radio. "I've been told that's not the case. I'm just kind of having my fingers crossed, getting treatment as many times a day as possible and hoping I can heal pretty quick from this."
