Houston Texans Head Coach Gary Kubiak may not be overly popular with the team's fans these days, but he has the support of the only person who matters: Texans' owner Bob McNair. While fans expecting the franchise's first playoff appearance this season may want Kubiak fired because of a 4-4 record at the season's midway point, McNair told John McClain of the Houston Chronicle Monday no such change is pending.
"That's not how we run this ship," McNair said. "Gary's doing a good job. Replacing him doesn't help you catch more balls."
The Texans, after winning their final four games last season to secure the first winning season in franchise history, entered the season with playoff aspirations. The giddy, early-season feeling grew after a season-opening victory over Indianapolis and grew more after a Week 2 victory at Washington.
Since then, the Texans have lost four of six games and have lost three of five games this season at home.
