There could be a simple plea in Carolina on Sunday. Let it snow, or at least let it be slick and wet and dangerous for Matt Ryan to grip the football and sling it downfield. The Carolina Panthers might prefer a little bit of run-first conditions on Sunday in Bank of America Stadium.Rain is forecast for Sunday and temperatures are expected to drop through the day.
The Falcons (10-2) have a distinct advantage over Carolina (1-11) with veteran receivers and a quarterback who is in the running for NFL Player of the Year. The Panthers have a rookie quarterback and a passing game that ranks last in the NFL.
Carolina's run game has some new traction with the return to form lately of running back Jonathan Stewart, who rushed for 98 yards at Cleveland and 92 yards at Seattle.
Mike Goodson had back-to-back 100 yard rushing games and is a good changeup to Stewart.
