Michael VIck's Return to Atlanta Highlights 2011 NFC East Schedule

Former Falcons franchise quarterback Michael Vick's much-anticipated return to Atlanta didn't happen this month as both his Philadelphia Eagles and the Falcons were upset in the NFC playoffs by the Green Bay Packers. However, Vick will play in the Georgia Dome in 2011 for the first time since he last led Atlanta five years earlier.

That Eagles-Falcons matchup is just one highlight on next season's NFC East schedule, assuming, of course, that a lockout of the players by the owners doesn't preempt part or all of the season. Among the other games to watch are the New York Giants' chance to beat the Packers, whose rout of Big Blue in Week 16 all but eliminated New York from playoff contention and the Eagles' opportunity to avenge their Week 12 loss to the Chicago Bears. Both those games will be in the NFC East stadiums this time.

Let's take a closer look at how the 2011 opponents shake out for each of the four NFC East teams (in order of 2010 finish).

EAGLES -- As mentioned, Philadelphia, which whipped Atlanta 31-17 at home in 2010, visits the Georgia Dome for the first time since Vick beat the Eagles for the Falcons in 2005. Philadelphia also beat Atlanta at home in 2006, 2008 and 2009 (with Vick XX in the latter game). The Eagles are 1-1 at home against the Bears under coach Andy Reid, losing in 2007 and winning in 2000.
