Vince Manuwai's presence in the starting lineup apparently is permanent.

Manuwai, the Jacksonville Jaguars' starting left guard from 2003-2007, entered the season as a backup to Justin Smiley, but started the last three games. While he first moved into the lineup because of a foot injury to Smiley, Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times-Union reported on Wednesday that Manuwai has remained there despite Smiley's return to health in recent weeks.

Ganguli asked Jaguars coach Del Rio about the position Wednesday.

"You can discuss it however you like, Vinny's going to be the starter this week," Del Rio told Ganguli. "Justin remains a very valuable player for us. The way both of those guys have handled that is team first. I wouldn't say either one has ever been really happy about it but they're going about their business in a way that is best for the football team."
