Deep Posts: The Steelers hate Todd Graham, too!

Deep Posts: The Steelers hate Todd Graham, too!-- If you thought former Pitt coach Todd Graham was a jackass for bailing for Arizona State in a way that would make Bobby Petrino wince, wait until you see what the Steelers thought of him.

Should Graham ever decide to come back to Heinz Field to watch a game, he'll have to buy a ticket ? and he may want to hire a bodyguard. According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, things really got out of hand with a guy who couldn't carry water for a coach of Mike Tomlin's pedigree.

The Steelers practically threw a party when they heard that Pitt coach Todd Graham quit. That goes from the top to the bottom, from those who work in the offices to the coaches and every-day workers who came into contact with Graham and his staff in the building.

They described Graham as an arrogant man who had no use for anything the Steelers might have offered, and they say he resented having to share the building and the indoor practice field at the UPMC complex with them.

Before Graham, the Panthers and the Steelers ate in the same cafeteria, although at different times. Graham came in and put an end to that. The cooks at the cafeteria still prepare the food for the Panthers, but it is then brought over to the other side of the building, where Pitt created its own cafeteria to serve Graham's players and his wishes.

Instead of embracing the advantages that an association with the Steelers might bring, Graham rejected them, even if there was little he could do about the shared facilities.

Perhaps the Steelers have already warned current Arizona Cardinals head coach and former Pittsburgh offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt just what he's in for with this jerk in the same state. [Pittsburgh Post-Gazette]

-- The St. Louis Rams may shut quarterback Sam Bradford down for the rest of the season, though they still see him as their future franchise guy. Smart move. Having watched Bradford from the press box at Seattle's CenturyLink Field last Monday, I was concerned that Bradford's ankle injury was affecting the plant-and-throw elements of hismechanicsin ways that rendered him completely ineffective. AhealthyBradford can still be an elite quarterback, but theRamsneed to give him a few more targets and a lot less Josh McDaniels. [Pro Football Talk]

-- This is actually a high-school football story, but anytime we get a chance to post a link to a video of an unattended field cart creaming a multitude of innocent bystanders, we're going to do it. That's just how we roll, especially when it happens at Cowboys Stadium. Since this happened at the conclusion of the game, we're inclined to blame Jason Garrett. [Deadspin]

-- Bill Polian, the mastermind behind the Colts, says that he expects Andrew Luck to struggle no matter which NFL team takes him. Since that team will likely be the Colts, we expect that Polian is engaging in a bit of pre-emptive damage control. [Tribstar.com]

-- In what was basically a scrimmage for the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday night, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers get creamed. Mike Williams is held without a target for the first time in his NFL career, Albert Haynesworth sounds reasonable, and management is very quiet. It is indeed Bizarro World in Buc Land. [Tampa Bay Tribune]

-- The NFL Network's Jason La Canfora suggests that the result of today's game between the San Diego Chargers and Baltimore Ravens could affect the status of injured Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. If I'm the Steelers, I'm just as worried about the possibility ot being without center Maurkice Pouncey and safety Troy Polamalu on Monday night against the San Francisco 49ers. [Twitter]

-- Between the Saints and a few bowl games, New Orleans will be raking it in over the next few weeks. [NOLA.com]

-- The Sam Hurd situation has intensified the heat on Chicago Bears GM Jerry Angelo. [Pro Football Weekly]

-- Finally, Philly fans are always finding new reasons to be angry with Andy Reid. This week, the focus of fan ire is that Reid didn't draft Jason Witten and Jason Pierre-Paul. Next week: global warming! [CSNPhilly.com]
