The big injury news was actually broken earlier this week ? Ben Roethlisberger (ankle) will not start against the St. Louis Rams, though he's not on the team's inactive list. Charlie Batch will go in his place, and we would have to opine that if the Steelers can't beat the Rams under any circumstances ? well, they'll be as unhappy as the Houston Texans were on Thursday after their loss to the Colts. Missing for sure for the Steelers will be center Maurkice Pouncey and linebacker LaMarr Woodley.
You also won't see Washington Redskins running back Roy Helu (ankle, toe), per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Also, Mario Manningham (knee) is officially out for the Giants against the Jets, which gives everyone on both teams just one more thing to yap about. Sheesh. Three other quarterbacks of major import will not see action today: Sam Bradford (ankle), Kevin Kolb (concussion), and Colt McCoy (mystery thing that may look like a concussion to the outside observer, but the Cleveland Browns know best).
