Well, this is a corker. In a playoff game between the Arena League's Georgia Force and Jacksonville Sharks, here's the main disadvantage to having the fans right up against the field. You can see receiver C.J. Johnson receiving a kick from the Sharks, getting ready to run it out of the end zone, when a fan decides to get two arms around Johnson and prevent him from doing so by trying to rip his facemask off. The best part of the video is after the play is blown dead and several Sharks players give the guy high-fives for his efforts.
Very observant announcer after the play: "They're going to penalize Jacksonville for this, and put the ball on the 20." Gosh, ya think so?
The Sharks actually wound up winning the game, 64-55, and are now headed to Phoenix to face the Arizona Rattlers inArena Bowl XXIV (who says that crime doesn't pay?) We don't yet know whether the Sharks will be bringing their "ninth man" along with them, but we'd advise against it.
