Derby continue their impressive form, Dean Saunders wins his first game at Doncaster and some good news for Plymouth

? With their victory over Millwall, Derby have made their best start to a league season in 40 years. Two first-half goals from Craig Bryson and Jeff Hendrick and one from Steve Davies midway through the second half gave the Rams and their manager Nigel Clough their sixth win of the season and leaves them third in the Championship, just a point behind leaders Southampton ? who needed a late goal from Morgan Schneiderlin to earn a draw with Burnley.
? Dean Saunders' first game in charge of Doncaster ? after taking over from Sean O'Driscoll ? was a dull one but he won't care. A solitary goal from John Oster, who fired in from long distance, was enough to give them victory over Crystal Palace. The win is Rovers' first in 19 outings but they still remain rooted to the bottom of the table.
? Blackpool spoiled their best start to the season in nine years by conceding a late goal away to Portsmouth. The ill-tempered game ? nine players received yellow cards ? was settled by an Erik Huseklepp goal with virtually the last kick of the game at Fratton Park.
? Huddersfield have lost only once in the last 34 games ? and that was in the play-off final ? and looked to have beaten bottom side Leyton Orient at the Galpharm Stadium until an injury-time equaliser from Ben Chorley meant a share of the spoils. With his side two goals to the good with only five minutes to play, Lee Clark will not be too pleased.
? Elsewhere in League One, the leaders Charlton kept up their impressive form of late ? Chris Powell's side have yet to lose this season ? with a fine 3-1 win over Chesterfield. They are now three points clear of Sheffield United who lost to Wycombe in the division's upset of the day. The Blues had not scored in the league since 16 August but Stuart Beavon managed to find a way around the Blades' defence to give his side a much-needed three points.
? The League Two award for game of the day goes to Southend's trip to Rotherham. The Seasiders thumped the Millers 4-0 to end Rotherham's unbeaten home record and move themselves in to the promotion places, just a single point behind the leaders Morecambe ? who lost 3-2 to Bristol Rovers in another thriller at the Globe Arena.
? After Peter Ridsdale said on Friday that he would step down from the club once James Brent's takeover was complete, there is more good news for Plymouth fans ? their first win of the season. Goals from Warren Feeney and Robbie Williams against Macclesfield did the trick for the Pilgrims. Before the match, Plymouth's caretaker manager, Carl Fletcher, said he was "not going to change things overnight" but at least they have taken a step in the right direction.
