For Donte Stallworth, preparing for an NFL game is a musical, multi-step process that involves two different playlists, the first of which is populated by songs from Canadian songstresses, guys who used to be in The Police and leather-jacket-clad, half-mustachioed duos.
Dan Steinberg of the DC Sports Bog detailed the interesting "pre-pregame playlist" of the new Washington Redskins receiver. Stallworthhas some classics like "Human Nature" and "Through the Fire" on the 145-track playlist as well as some modern hits such as Alicia Keys' "No One," Alicia Keys' "Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart" and Alicia Keys' "Wreckless Love." Nothing too out of the ordinary there.
Peppered throughout Stallworth's "chill mix," however, are some eclectic musical choices for any iPod, particularly one being used before an NFL game by a 30-year-old wide receiver.
Some of the highlights:
Fireworks -- Katy Perry
My Heart Will Go On -- Celine Dion
Fields of Gold -- Sting
Who's That Girl -- Madonna
Your Love Keeps Lifting Me -- Jackie Wilson
Missing -- Everybody But the Girl
The Girl From Ipanema -- Frank Sinatra
You Give Good Love -- Whitney Houston
What Is Love -- Haddaway
Dream On -- Aerosmith
Maneater -- Hall & Oates
Crazy, right? How could you have Whitney and Madonna on a pre-pregame playlist and not include "How Will I Know" or "Borderline"?
