Police: This guy slapped Devin Hester in the back of the head

Police: This guy slapped Devin Hester in the back of the headFor no apparent reason, the gentleman pictured on your right slapped Chicago Bears wide receiver Devin Hester in the back of the head at the Rivers Casino near Chicago, according to police. From TribLocal.com:

Hester was in a cash transaction line at around 10:40 p.m. Friday when Daniel G. Rago, 52, of the 200 block of Wille Street in Mount Prospect, approached the football player, slapped him in the back of the head and walked away, Des Plaines Police Chief Jim Prandini said.

Hester, to his credit, didn't retaliate, and alerted casino security. Security took the guy to a holding area where Ace Rothstein had one of his goons destroy's the guys's hand with a ball-peen hammer police eventually placed him under arrest.

The reason for the attack? The guy didn't give one. I was thinking maybe he was a disgruntled Vikings fan, mad about Hester destroying his team, but this happened Friday night, two days before Hester went bananas on the Vikings. And even if that was the case, the head-slap would've been better spent on Leslie Frazier or whoever decided to punt the ball to Hester.

It was just a random, bizarre incident. It's possible that the guy didn't even know he was slapping the NFL's all-time greatest kick returner.

Thankfully, it didn't escalate and no one was hurt. But a word of caution to any potential back-of-the-head slappers out there: That won't always be the case. I wouldn't recommend doing this to James Harrison, for example.
