Video: Helmet-to-helmet hit breaks James Harrison?s eye socket

James Harrison won't be on the field for the struggling Pittsburgh Steelers for a few weeks after suffering a broken orbital bone around his right eye during Sunday's loss to the Houston Texans.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin told reporters Harrison would miss a "number of weeks." The 2008 NFL Defensive Player of the Year will undergo surgery on Wednesday.

Harrison broke the bone while getting blocked by Texans' tackle Duane Brown. Watch as the linebacker comes into the right side of the picture as James Casey catches a screen pass from Matt Schaub. When Harrison is engaged by Brown, the two hit helmets and the impact is audible on the CBS broadcast.

Harrison explained on Twitter that his forehead pad in his helmet came down after the hit and hit him in the eye. That resulted in a fractured right orbital eye socket.

As the rest of the clip shows, a broken eye socket didn't stop Harrison from breaking free of Brown and trying to make the tackle.
