CHICAGO -- The Seattle Seahawks went three-and-out on the game's first possession, then surrendered a 58-yard Jay Cutler-to-Greg Olsen touchdown pass. Then the NFC divisional-round game got worse for the visitors.
Seahawks TE John Carlson slammed his head onto the frozen Soldier Field turf while leaping to avoid a tackle by Chicago safety Danieal Manning. Carlson, a third-year pro from Notre Dame, remained motionless on the field while medical staff tended to him. His head and neck were immobilized before being carted from the field.
His exact injury status was unknown. FOX's Tony Siragusa announced that Carlson had a head injury, but did not elaborate.
