FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Even with two of their top wide receivers and one of their flourishing rookie tight ends inactive, the Patriots offense didn't skip a beat. That's what happens when you have Tom Brady at quarterback. Brady led the Patriots to an easy 38-7 romp over the Miami Dolphins.

New England roared to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter with a composed Brady leading the way and never looked back. His passes were crisp along with his play fakes. When it looked like he was done for the day with a little over nine minutes left in the first half, Patriots' coach Bill Belichick opted to send him back into the game after backup Brian Hoyer ran two plays.

All Brady did was engineer another scoring drive resulting in a field goal with 1:42 left in the half and seemingly earned himself a second-half rest, but Belichick sent him out to start the second half. His answer - a seven-play, 78-yard scoring drive ending with his ten-yard touchdown pass to tight end Alge Crumpler that made it a 31-0 ballgame.

Some thoughts on the game:

o. For a team supposedly playing for its head coach, Tony Sparano, to keep his job the Dolphins had a rough go of it from the beginning. Quarterback Chad Henne, already under fire of late, threw an interception in the opening drive while attempting to squeeze one into wide receiver Brandon Marshall on a 3rd-and-14. Rookie cornerback Devin McCourty picked it off for his seventh interception and Henne finished the first half with a 29.2 passer rating.
