Carolina Panthers Need Coach Who Can Upgrade Their Struggling Offense

The Carolina Panthers need a new coach and if you have seen the Panthers offense you know they have to be looking at a guy who can call plays and bring some nerve to the offense.

Ideally, they would look for someone like Andy Reid or Sean Payton, but the problem is those guys call all the plays for the Eagles and Saints, respectively. If you have watched a Saints practice it is Payton running the show on offense.

Marty Mornhinweg is the offensive coordinator at Philadelphia and a guy who has helped Michael Vick's reemergence, but is that his offense? He could be hired anyway at Cleveland.

There is no one else behind them, or working with them, that seems qualified.

Carolina should certainly look at Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh, especially if his quarterback, Andrew Luck, declares for the draft. Carolina needs a quarterback as much as it needs a head coach.

Harbaugh can run a dynamic offense. The problem is John Elway, a new Broncos' executive, is in Miami twisting Harbaugh's arm trying to get him interested in the Denver job.
