ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- After dealing with a series of snow-related weather delays that postponed his interview for two days, former Carolina coach John Fox arrived in Denver on Wednesday to discuss the Broncos' coaching vacancy. He was dressed for the occasion, wearing a dark blue suit and an orange tie, colors emblematic of the Broncos organization.
Fox is the fifth candidate to be interviewed for the job left vacant by the Dec. 6 firing of Josh McDaniels. He was picked up at the airport by club officials and driven to the team's Dove Valley headquarters, where he was met by John Elway, the club's executive vice president for football operations, who is leading the coaching search.
Fox was with Carolina for nine seasons, taking over a 1-15 team and leading a turnaround that landed the Panthers in the Super Bowl two years later. His contract with Carolina wasn't renewed after an injury-plagued Panthers squad limped to an NFL-worst 2-14 finish this year.
