Tony Sparano Defends Dolphins' Offensive Coordinator Dan Henning

DAVIE, Fla. -- In the wake of the Miami Dolphins' 17-14 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday that eliminated them from the playoffs, the majority of the vitriol by the fans was directed at offensive coordinator Dan Henning and his play-calling. Now this is the same man who along with quarterbacks' coach David Lee introduced the Wildcat offense to the league two years ago and sparked Miami's memorable run to the AFC East crown.

But this is a what-have-you-done-for-me-lately league, and with the Dolphins owning the 31st-ranked scoring offense while their defense is in the top five, it's difficult not to point the finger at the man in charge of the offense. Miami's head coach, Tony Sparano, would have none of that Monday morning as he faced the reality of playing meaningless games for the first time in his professional head coaching career.
