Jim Irsay Won't Spend Offseason Talking About Colts Playing in Super Bowl

Jim Irsay has learned from one of his fellow owners' mistakes.

Irsay, owner and chief executive officer of the Indianapolis Colts, said despite next year's Super Bowl being scheduled for Indianapolis he won't spend the offseason openly talking about the Colts making the game.

Jerry Jones did as much last off-season as North Texas prepared to host the Super Bowl and his Cowboys began the season 1-7 and finished 6-10.

"Honestly, I don't even think about that," Irsay told Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star. "I'm focused on doing whatever it takes that gives us the best shot to win this year. It's not like all of a sudden we're going to try harder this year because we have the Super Bowl. The intensity to win every year is the same and it doesn't change simply because we have the Super Bowl."
