Steven Jackson Disappointed as Rams Miss Playoffs Yet Again

Going from a 1-15 record to 7-9 in the space of one season would seem to be reason to be happy.

But not reason enough to be at all content, particularly for St. Louis veteran running back Steven Jackson.

"Each and every year you don't make the playoffs, it's just as hard,'' Jackson said in the wake of the Rams' 16-6 season-ending loss to Seattle Sunday. "It's just as difficult.

"It was disappointing. You come into a game that's a must-win, winner-takes-all, and we just came up short. For whatever reason, we just came up short. Now the season is over.''

Jackson, who played with a broken left ring finger, said he plans to play in the Pro Bowl Jan. 30 in Hawaii, then have the pins taken out of the finger after that game.

Maybe by then he'll have heard the last of Rams fans unhappy that he didn't get the ball more against the Seahawks. Jackson wound up with just 11 carries and only 45 yards.
