With Fewell Staying Put, Only Cowboys May Have New Coordinator

With Denver's announcement that it has hired former Carolina head man John Fox as its coach, the door is now closed on Perry Fewell ascending to a top spot in 2011.

So Fewell, who finished 2009 as Buffalo's interim coach, will be back for a second season as the New York Giants' defensive coordinator after interviewing for the head coaching vacancies with the Broncos, Carolina Panthers (who hired former San Diego Chargers defensive coordinator Ron Rivera) and Cleveland Browns (who hired former St. Louis Rams offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur).

And with Giants' offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride out of the running to succeed Randy Edsall at Connecticut, that means that New York, Philadelphia (Marty Mornhinweg, offense and Sean McDermott, defense) and Washington (Kyle Shanahan, offense and Jim Haslett, defense) will return men in charge on both sides of the ball.
