The "predictions" start before the season because the questions do. Who will be the MVP ... the best defensive player? Who will win divisions ... conferences ... Super Bowls? But these days, they keep going and so do the questions about MVP and lesser individual awards. By Week 6, everyone has to know the best players, the best coaches, the next coaches, the winners and losers.
And nobody stops to think about ...
Benjarvus Green-Ellis, Brent Grimes, Terrance Knighton or Kyle Williams to name four faceless players who have excelled this season.
So in the interests of (hopefully) providing a little recognition to otherwise faceless players and a little context to the awards "races,'' here are a dozen players from nowhere, guys who never figured in preseason speculation and who don't figure now to get to the Pro Bowl or anywhere else.
With a couple of exceptions that will be obvious.
