This was the weekend the roof caved in on New York.
Literally for the Giants ... figuratively for the Jets. The Jets, however, will have a much harder time digging out of their mess.
The Jets still seem a near-lock for a playoff spot. They have blown their chance to win their division, and are heading toward January with a pronounced limp.
This is what happens when a brash coach makes his team brash before it is ready to be brash. That leads to a team playing on attitude, which leads to humiliating losses in a Monday night game the coach and team dubbed the game of the year, and to a home loss to a Miami team that a week before had lost to the stinking Browns (for crying out loud). It also leads to a situation where a strength coach trips a member of the opposing team running down the field on punt coverage, a Mickey Mouse thing to do if ever there was a Mickey Mouse thing to do on an NFL field.
