The Seahawks had hoped to get home run threat Mike Williams back on the field this week against Carolina. It's still a possibility, but that eventuality is looking more remote for Seattle all the time.Williams missed last week's loss to Kansas City with a left foot strain, and now there's no clear evidence of progress in healing.
"Today they looked at him and there wasn't a lot of improvement, so we've got to wait and see,'' coach Pete Carroll said in his weekly meeting with the Seattle media. "We'll have to go day-to-day, and we'll rest him until he's ready to run fast, until he can really go. We're not going to push him back on this thing until we get it resolved.''
Williams is wearing a protective boot and didn't practice at all last week. There is a chance, however, that he could work out toward the end of the week. That's when Seattle will decide on his return for the Panthers.
