The "Lords of December" have been dethroned. The Chargers saw their NFL record 18-game streak in December snapped Sunday with a 28-13 loss to the Raiders, who swept the two-game season series with San Diego for the first time in eight years.
The Raiders took the earlier meeting this season 35-27 to end their own 13-game skid versus the Chargers.
It was the first time San Diego had lost a December game since a New Year's Eve loss to Denver in 2005 in Drew Brees' final game as San Diego's starting quarterback. The loss was Norv Turner's first in 14 December games as the coach of San Diego.
