Texans vs. Eagles Preview, Score and More

Houston (5-6) ended three weeks of heartache last Sunday by shutting out a Tennessee team with rookie third-string quarterback Rusty Smith making his first start. Prior to that, the Texans had lost to Jacksonville and the New York Jets on last-minute bombs and to San Diego when they drove twice inside the Chargers' 30 in the final five minutes but couldn't score.

Philadelphia (7-4) has done the reverse as last week's 31-26 loss in Chicago ended a three-game winning streak that had put the Eagles on top of the NFC East.

The focus of this game, just the third between these franchises, will be Philadelphia's offense, ranked second overall and eighth in passing, against Houston's defense, ranked 28th overall and 31st against the pass. If Eagles quarterback Michael Vick, the league's leading passer, has a typical night, the Texans will be in serious trouble.

The game also features a standout receiver from each side who was embroiled in an emotional incident last weekend. Houston All-Pro Andre Johnson was fine, but not suspended, for his brawl with Tennessee cornerback Cortland Finnegan. Philadelphia Pro Bowl pick DeSean Jackson was scolded by Andy Reid for his selfish attitude and had a sitdown with the coach the day after the loss to the Bears.
