The Arizona Cardinals may have found something big in a small place.

In an attempt to address injury problems at the quarterback position, the Cardinals signed UFL Sacramento Mountain Lions backup quarterback Richard Bartel Tuesday, according to multiple reports.

The struggling Cardinals (3-9) are banged up at the QB spot, placing rookie QB Max Hall on Injured Reserve with a left shoulder ailment.

And while Bartel may likely just be a backup, John Skelton, Arizona's backup, told Darren Urban of Cardinals' official website that he's competing with Bartel for the starting quarterback spot.

Said Urban via Twitter:
"Skelton says in interview he's competing this week with Bartel for starting spot. Would be shock if not Skelton, but no set in stone."

Hall, 25, started three of the six games he played this season. The BYU alum threw for 370 yards on 39-of-78 attempts, one touchdown and six interceptions.
