Eagles TE Brent Celek: Dwight Freeney 'Was Ready to Give Up on the Field'

Dwight Freeney didn't have quite the game in his second trip to Philadelphia as he did in his first.

Eagles tight end Brent Celek thinks he knows why.

Freeney, the Indianapolis Colts' five-time Pro Bowl defensive end, did not register a sack in the Colts' 26-24 loss at Philadelphia Sunday, and Celek said the Eagles' chipping and double teams helped frustrate one of the NFL's elite pass rushers.

"You can tell," Celek told Daily News Live on 97.5 FM in Philadelphia. "I even talked to my coach about it today. When we were chipping and blocking Freeney, it was getting to the point where he was ready to give up on the field. He was so frustrated and mad.

"You could tell after a few guys hit him, he would just kind of quit on a play."
