Vince Young text Jeff FisherJeff Fisher confirmed at his Wednesday afternoon press conference that quarterback Vince Young had texted the Titans coach an apology for Young's actions Sunday. After injuring his thumb and being benched in a loss to the Redskins, Young tossed part of his uniform into the LP Field stands, then stormed out of the team's locker room following a reported postgame confrontation with Fisher.

Fisher was asked if anything positive came from the apology.

"I don't think so, no," Fisher said, according to The Tennessean. "Someone could have grabbed his phone and texted. I'm not a real big text guy. I'm not really into this new-age stuff.

"I don't twitter or tweet, but I think face-to-face is a man thing."

Young, who tore the flexor tendon on his right thumb, was placed on injured reserve Monday, ending his 2010 season. That news came after Fisher declared that, healthy or not, Young would no longer be his team's starting quarterback. Rookie Rusty Smith, Young's replacement against Washington, is expected to start for Tennessee going forward -- at least until veteran Kerry Collins recovers from a calf injury.
