ATLANTA -- Tampa Bay's LeGarrette Blount is a rookie. It is not an alibi. It is a reason for bad plays. The rookie made a bad play.

Tampa Bay was down 27-21 facing fourth-and-six inches from the Atlanta 2-yard line with 2:44 to play. The Bucs called a dive play with Blount, who is 247 pounds, running behind guard Davin Joseph, who is 313 pounds.

"It was supposed to be there, but it wasn't," Blount said when asked if he missed the hole.

Blount missed the hole. He gave up on it, actually, and bounced outside where Atlanta safety Thomas DeCoud got under him and tackled him for no gain. Game over.

"It was a dive play and I bounced out," Blount said. "I think I got it (the first down)."
