Brian Cushing's move to the middle may not mean that's his permanent position this season.Cushing, the Houston Texans' linebacker who was the Associated Pess 2009 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year playing outside last season, has played the last two games in the middle after moving there in the wake of a season-ending injury to DeMeco Ryans.
On Wednesday, Texans coach Gary Kubiak said Cushing could be moving a bit, and that Cushing could play both middle and strong-side against Jacksonville Sunday
Kubiak said Wednesday the Texans now have more flexibiliy at the position because linebackers Kevin Bentley and Darryl Sharpton are healthy.
"We did what we had to do two weeks ago with our situation," Kubiak told Nick Scurfeld of HoustonTexans.com. "Now, we're starting to get a little bit healthy. The fact that Kevin and Sharpton got through last week and they're in good shape today does give us a little wiggle room as we move forward."
