When the Eagles scored 28 points in the first quarter against the Redskins, and 35 not even a minute into the second quarter, it looked as if we might be on the verge of seeing a historic NFL contest. What would the final score be? And would it rank among the NFL's highest scoring games of all time?The final wound up being 59-28, and though the point total was quite high in the end, it wasn't the NFL's highest scoring game of all time. In fact, it didn't even rank in the top 20. The 87 combined points are tied for 28th in NFL history.
