Texans Hang Tough for Victory

A whole lot went wrong for the Houston Texans on Sunday afternoon, from a rough day defensively to a "devastating" injury.

What went right was important, too.

That's because despite the loss of middle linebacker DeMeco Ryans for the season, and despite allowing 417 total yards offense, the Texans rallied from a 14-point second-half deficit to beat the Kansas City Chiefs 35-31 at Reliant Stadium.

"We are really struggling," Texans coach Gary Kubiak said of the defense after Houston won for the second time in three weeks. "I can't hide it."

Despite the troubles, the Texans maintained at least a share of first place in the AFC South entering their bye week.
