As Gary Kubiak sees it, Houston Texans tight end Owen Daniels needn't worry.Kubiak, the Texans' coach, said while Daniels' numbers may have been a bit down this season since he returned from a torn anterior cruciate ligament that cost him the last have of last season, that likely won't be the case for long.
Daniels, a 2008 Pro Bowl selection, was and will be again an integral part of the offense, Kubiak said Friday.
"He's always been a big part (of the offense) and he will again," HoustonTexans.com reported Kubiak as saying via Twitter Friday. "It's been spread around more than it has been in the past."
Daniels, who was on a pace for a career-best statistical season last season, spent the offseason rehabbing the knee he tore Nov. 1. He is still not quite a year removed from an injury that typically takes at least a year to heal properly and longer than that for the player to reach his previous level.
Daniels said Thursday he feels closer to full health than he has been in some time, and last Sunday against New York he said he felt close to 100 percent when he had his most productive game of the season.
Also on Friday, Kubiak said defensive end Mark Anderson should play. Anderson, who had 12 of his 21.5 career sacks as a rookie with Chicago in 2006, was released by the Bears Oct. 5 and signed with Houston the following day.
Wide receiver Jacoby Jones practiced Friday, Kubiak said. He has missed last week's game with a calf injury and has 12 receptions for 131 yards and a touchdown this season.
Nick Scurfield of HoustonTexans.com reported via Twitter that Jones is expected to play.
